The year 2013 started off as a bit of a downer for Jessica Lucas. Costarring in the highly anticipated show Cult it premiered on February 19but was pulled from the air just a couple of weeks later, on April 10. The following season, CW continued to air the show's remaining episodes. It was not a great time being a in an 13-week drama show that had been cancelled at the very beginning. On the plus side, it seemed like her professional career was advancing quickly on the big screen. Jessica Lucas starred in That Awkward which was made by Sony Pictures at the start of 2014 as American actor Michael B. Jordan's wife as well as lawyer. He is in a relationship with her husband and holds clearly the upper-hand when it comes to their relationships. Since it's a buddy film, the majority of the story is centered around the three leading me, but Lucas is a force in every scene she is involved in. Lucas also shines in her few scenes in Paul W.S. Anderson period action-adventure film Pompeii. It was a small-screen film she was soon working together with Shenae Grimes AnnaLynne McCord and Jessica Stroup in four episodes of the revamped 90210. In 2009, she was a part on the highly successful remake of the popular 1990s television series Melrose Place as Riley Richmond the sweet teacher at an elementary school.
